    • I once created a template with two top full-width div containers, a three-column center container using five divs, and a single full-width footer div. Then I put every snippet and chunk I had into each of the top sections and both of the side columns, including menus, news listing, photo galleries, search forms and login forms. I used different CSS files with a lot of "display:none" to control the actual final display; even a single-column with a horizontal menu across the top, all in the CSS. It wasn’t really practical, since the HTML source was pretty big, having everything in it three or four times, but it was fun to play with.

Is there any good website with some cSS layout samples? I’m still trying to figure out how exactly you can position everything correctly.

        thanks in advance,

        Blaise

P.S.: sorry for the question, i’m trying to let the ’old school’ methods for the new CSS things, but it’s not as easy as it was with tables :p

        • Here’s a great thread on the same exact topic. There’s a post from Pirate Rocker Scott D, that has a lot of good references that I pointed him too a few messages into it.

          Enjoy! laugh

If you want, I can paste the DropMenu style code from the CSS’s that style http://www.scottydelicious.com . It always helps me to disect someone elses functioning model to understand exactly what is going on. My style sheets are heavily commented so you can see what each ID or CLASS is doing. I can post them in this thread when I am done seeing patients tonight, or, you can go to my website and view the CSS using the "CSS" link in the footer, and also view the page source to see what the ID’s are representing. Also, I usually have time to answer specific questions Re: my CSS and XHTML, so don’t be afraid to email me. Be sure you post your solutions here, however, so that other users with similar predicaments can learn from our mistakes.

              regards,

And if you have questions about my markup, CSS, or if there is anything I could clarify for you, please don’t hesitate to contact me. The least I can do for this project with so many people that have donated their time and expertise, is donate my to anyone in need. And I do have time to help.
