I’m still in OS X 10.3, and downloaded and tried FF 1.5 RC3 twice, and both times it won’t work in that select, on several different sites, local and remote. It does work fine with others select dropdowns. I haven’t a clue what the issue is.

Susan, I am using RC2. I will email it to you when I get home because I can’t find a link to download RC2 on their website, that way you can compare and see if it makes a difference.

How many folks are using the official release of FireFox 1.5 from Mozilla.com?

It’s really buggy on Mac. I don’t use it because of the wierd issue with the select drop-downs in the document editing page. Until that gets sorted out, I really can’t use it. I’m still with 1.0.7, as are quite a lot of Mac users, according to various forums and mailing lists.
None of the drop-downs on the document editor page work; that includes the template selection dropdown. This was the case with all of the pre-release versions of 1.5 as well. I’m still on OS X 10.3.9; maybe that has something to do with it. Oddly enough, I’ve narrowed it down to something in the menu bars (Save, Delete, Cancel and the option buttons) because if I remove that block of code they work fine. Almost the same menu block works fine in the other panels that have select dropdowns, such as the system configuration. Beats me.
Very interesting. I just installed the latest build of Camino, which is based on the Firefox 1.5 codebase. In the Manager, the dropdowns on the document edit page work. It’s really pretty, too.
