    Amazing.
    • It needs a bit of input validation, the database wasn’t happy about the apostrophes in my page content.

      • It got real unhappy with me when I clicked on "Cancel" on the little dialog about the published status. In fact, it’s still just sitting there with the blue progress bar spinning or whatever it is that it does. I’ll have to do a force quit.

          Holy CRAP!
I think I forgot to mysql_escape_string() the saved content!

oh, and the "published = (0 or 1)" dialog was for debugging, and was never supposed to make it into one of these distrobutions. I think you have alpha 0.0.2 or 0.0.1. The folks who have 0.0.3 won’t know what Susan is talking about, but Susan... I will have an updated version with the doc list as an outline (as in the attached photo) hopefully by the end of the day. You can have the first copy! wink

On the TODO for TODAY. grin

BTW, Here is a screencap of the new document list, complete with custom "iTunes-esque" window style.

          • It doesn’t save the URL in Preferences.

And you really should use mysql_real_escape_string()

            However... http://www.sottwell.com/command-control.html

              What is not being saved?
So when you put the URL in the preferences, it is not trying to connect to that url?

              • After shutting it down, on startup again it has the username and password still, but not the URL. So it’s using the URL just fine, but not actually saving it.

I updated the first post with Command Control (0.0.3 alpha).
There is a new screen shot and a zipped up Mac disk image to download.

Copy the app to your drive, and copy the new cmdctrl.php file to your MODx root (there are a lot of changes, so don’t use the old one!).

                  Known bugs:
Once you have all your preferences set, if you click new, but then cancel, it brings you back to the preferences and tells you they are not set, even though they are. I am working on that.

I have not done any more work on the RTE, but I did disable the buttons for now.

                  Added:
a preview window. Sorry, only reflects changes after you save, but launches in 1/7921834641th of a second, so you don’t have to wait for your default browser! tongue

The document list is now a tree complete with little monkeys (just kidding), but it is a tree in outline view, so it is much easier to navigate

There is a "Documents" section in the preferences. you can set the sort order and default parent for new documents. eventually these will be moved to the Document List window, instead of clicking new, you will select a parent from a popup list and a new document will be created there.

HUGE credits to OpenGeek. This entire program would not work if it was not for his help on cmdctrl.php.

Please post any new bugs you find as well as any feature requests. I am all ears!

                  • Awesome work... and way cool. smiley

                    1) Didn’t realize you had to double-click to bring up a document the first time. I’d like to see some logic that checks to see if a document is currently open and if not, to open one on clicking the menu tree. If there is one open, ask if you want to save any changes (only if you’ve made them) before navigating away.

                    2) HTML button should bring the window back to front when clicking on it. E.g., I’ve got a bunch of apps open and click on an app running in the bg. I want to go back by clicking on the page editing page. I don’t see my HTML window and click the HTML button, but nothing happens. Solution: bring all windows to front.

                    3) View should be labeled Preview, needs a corresponding menu entry, and use the cmd-U shortcut. HTML could get the opt-cmd-U shortcut (or vice-versa).

                    4) HTML view does not preserve line endings or spacing (and could stand a bit of syntax coloring! tongue).

                    5) Amazing stuff! laugh My mind is racing ... wink
