I am looking for a solution to autoresize images when they are uploaded. My customers tend to upload enormous images straight from their digital camera. Besides the fact it slows the site down, it also clutters the hosting.
Is there a way to autoresize uploaded to say max 1200 pixels wide?

how are they uploading?have you looked into imageslim extra?
What do you mean with how are they uploading? They're just using the regular ways of uploading in MODX. I have not looked into an Extra. Do you need an extra for something that simple?
That Extra only works as a TV or snippet. I'd like a site wide solution for every image that is uploaded anywhere.

I just did a bit of Googling because my solution to this has always been to keep the image upload size limit low to force them to resize images before uploading, along with some instructions on how to resize the images in Paint or whatever.
Anyway....apparently you'd need to set up a cron job to fire image-resizing code on image upload.

Ok, thanks. Usually I limit the upload size as well. But then customers want to upload video's...
I installed Autoresizeonupload, but there's no single explanation how to use that extra. So I uninstalled it again.
I'm not a developer, but a frontend designer. I'm not familiar with cron jobs, PHP, etc. MODX is really really nice, but rather backend developer oriented, which gives me hard times setting up sites.
phpThumbOf is only of use with TV's, not 'plain' images.
