    Hello,
Few weeks ago I moved several website to new server. And now in one website I can't do anything in manager. (All other websites are okay).
So basically I can log in to manager, but from there I can't do anything.
I tried to manually clear cache. Nothing happened.
I tried to reinstall MODX. Nothing happened. (also cleared cache again)
I tried to update to new MODX. Website went down.
    P.s. Cache generates okay.
P.s.s. Old server was really old (no one updated it before)

Can you try upgrading to 2.4.2 and/or tell us more about your hosting environment?

        Hi, thanks for reply
I tried to upgrading to 2.4.2, all setup looks okay, till I click install, then it shows this error:
Fatal error: Call to a member function checkPolicy() on null in /home/account/public_html/core/model/modx/modx.class.php on line 1880

And also, what info you need about server?
Basically I'm using Cpanel/WHM with Apache 2.4 and PHP 5.6
(I don't remember old server Apache and PHP versions, but it was really old)

I've seen that reported before. It means that MODX was unable to initialize the modContext object.

Check the modx_context table in PhpMyAdmin and see if it has a 'name' field.

I may be a bit late of this, but did you successfully edit all these config files to confirm the settings were correct?

              /config.core.php
              /manager/config.core.php
              /connectors/config.core.php
              /core/config/config.inc.php

Also, check your .htacess file has the correct settings for the new server too.

Then, once everything is correct, kill all the files and folders in
              /core/cache

In theory, that should get you back up. [ed. note: vrdriver last edited this post 10 years, 10 months ago.]

                I'm sorry, it's not /assets/connectors/config.core.php, it's /connectors/config.inc.php

There also may be a hard-coded path in the 'workspaces' and/or the 'namespaces' table in the database.
