I'm not a programmer. I just use the interface. Is there a way to find out what images are linked to what file?
    thank you.

plovejoy, could you provide a little more details or perhaps a screencapture to explain further what problem you're trying to solve?

We have a web site that has been through many changes. There are a lot of images in our files section that are no longer needed. It would be very helpful if I could find out what images are linked to what documents.

When I view a document I can right click and inspect an element and find out the file name for the image. But is there an easier way to see all the links?

Can the software, or an add on of some kind let me see what images are linked to what documents? Also, what documents are linked to each other?

Thank you. I hope that makes sense.

I use the interface and click the Insert/Edit Image button to insert images. The code looks like this:
              <p><img style="vertical-align: text-bottom;" src="Editor/images/ATMTransCountByTypeAll.png" alt="" width="596" height="332" /></p>
              I hope that helps.

AFAIK, there is nothing that will do this, though it's an interesting idea. It would be a good addition to the Orphans extra.

Thank you all for the help. Is there somewhere I should put in a request for this?

So, what has been suggested to me is that AssetManager will find orphaned image files on your webserver. That said, another option would be more involved but it would require outputting all the pages to the site and then seeing what images exist and comparing that to what is on the file server.

In reality this is a huge content challenge. Without your media assets being handled by a media asset manager, there is no way to know what is being accessed or not.

This is a long standing issue with maintaining a website. Knowing what images exist in the pages and which are no longer in use.
