I'm trying to work a newsletter, but the ModX seems setup for some kind of automatic feed. It's hard to know where to look to add a newsletter?
Is this the right link http://modx.com/extras/package/easynewsletter

Hello, thank you for the reply.
Yes, it seems there could be lots of add ons to choose a Newsletter from.
I really just need a pretty drag and drop editor to quickly write up a newsletter, or something that feeds automatically (might not be possible).

So, the MODX website running has a News type thing there, but I can't 'reverse engineer' what it is, to make it work.
The website has www.domain.com/news/ with text in the webpage.
In the MODX website manager > Dashboard > Resources > News > all I see is Weblink, Settings, Template Variables and Resource Groups.
I don't see any www.domain.com/news text that looks familiar as per the website?

Ok, so newsletter.pdf is uploaded to MODX > Dashboard > Files > Media > newsletter > images. Now I need to figure out where the newsletter.pdf files is loaded into MODX show it shows at the top of the www.domain.com/news webpage. I have had a look in MODX, but Resources > web > News > just shows the description as per my first post.

It seems the news folder is a Weblink, but I don't see what link it is calling. I think I need to add a static link, so I can drag and drop the newsletter.pdf into a content area?

Maybe the news weblink news/ links to Dashboard > Files > news > which has numerous php folders. I haven't found a clear way to edit and add a pdf though.

There is also EmailResource, which sends a copy of any resource as an email to all members of a user group.

Whenever I used an onsite newsletter, I used the Dada perl-based application. It let me specify a URL to use for the newsletter, so all anyone had to do was edit that resource. The configuration file was a little complicated, but I see that they have an installer script now to help make it easier.

I've had hosts that would only permit this mailing application, since it's lighter on the server and can be configured to send x number of mails at a time over a given period of time, so it can spread out the mailing to prevent sudden spikes in server load.

Thanks, for now I think just showing the newsletter.pdf on the website is a start.
Then I can look at digital/automatic news information feeds.
Also, the email lists sound great, but the whole registration process sounds complicated and need more time to look into that.

For now, I can't find the www.domain.com/news webapge in MODX manager.
I do find MODX manager > Dashboard > Resources > web > News > Weblink > Weblink: news/ > but no link to content which displays on the www.domain.com/news webpage, where I will show the newsletter.pdf.

Now that I've looked further, there seem to be 2 www.domain.com webpages that don't appear in the MODX manager.
                      www.domain.com/news and www.domain.com/directory.
