    Hi there,

I’ve just re-installed MODx for a second time and I’m still not sure why my css path is returning "/php/assets..." as oppsed to the "/assets/..." path that I’d expect. This applies to both public and admin pages and I suspect that it is something to do with base_path but as of yet have no idea how to stop it doing this.

Considering that I don’t even have a ’php’ directory in my path, where is the MODx installer getting it from and more importantly, how to stop the installation from adding ’php’ to the returned path?

Any help would be much appreciated, thanks.

What CSS path are you referring to? In a template, or from the manager interface?

Check in the manager under site settings and check if the path and URL for the resource directory is correct. This is in the manager under tools>configuration

The template. And in regards to the manager login, the /manager/ login screen appears fine, but if I login it takes me to /php/manager and then I have to manaully go to /manager/ to get into the manager. It seems this ’php’ directory that is being returned is not just messing up my template css path ... when I installed a forum module the first time and viewed the configuration screen, the css path for that frame was also affected.

I’ve looked here, and the Resource Path is exactly what I expect it to be. It has no ’php’ directory in the path. So why is MODx putting this ’php’ folder in my retruned path?

Could this be in the .htaccess rewrite rules? If you are using friendly URLs check the htaccess file. Also check the <base> tag in your HTML to see if it is setup correctly.

I already did that ... it also has ’php’ appended to it. Where are these paths coming from? The .htaccess file doesn’t seem to offer any indication as to the origination of the mysterious ’php’ value either. Any other suggestions?

If I try and edit the base_url, base_path, or site_url in the config.inc.php file I still get the same path returned?

You may need to clear the MODx cache after editing the config.

You are onto something there, dev_cw ... editing the docid_1.pageCache.php works a treat. But is this the best way to fix the problem? Shouldn’t MODx be giving me the correct path in the first instance, without having to edit a cached file? and how often would I need to edit a cached file? and would I need to do that per each page I create?

In fact, that has only fixed the one sample page that comes with the installation. The manager area still has path bugs.

No one suggested you edit the cache file. He said clear the cache, as in empty it from the manager menu option.

Honestly, it sounds like your web server configuration is non-standard and causing problems, but without details of that environment, it’s impossible for us to know.
