    hi guys please help. when i use quick edit or the fckeditor and click to add an image, then click the images button to bring up the box with all images in nothing is there. but i’ve uploaded them, no thumbnails show up and if i click to create a new directory it says i don’t have the permission.

    but as far as i can see i should as my assets/images folder is 777 chmodded...

    can anyone please help get this back working?

      Make sure your paths are correct (the Interface and Features tab of the configuration) for the site, then check your manager user (user tab) to make sure you’re configured correctly there as well.

        i’m not sure what my paths should be. currently i have my resource path as: /var/www/html/ and then in box below my resource url as: /assets/

        and i have my file manager path as; /var/www/html/

        is there a way to re-automatically set these paths or find out what they should be? i’ve asked my hosting provider but they don’t seem to know what modx is or what these paths should be. they just keep telling me the path where i need to ftp to etc...

          Go to Reports->System Info, click on the View link for phpinfo. Scroll to the bottom, and see what it says for _SERVER["SCRIPT_FILENAME"]. It should be something like var/www/html/manager/index.php. What you need is the var/www/html part; then for the resource path (Interface and Features tab) and file manager path it would be something like /var/www/htm/assets/. Mine is /home/sottwell/public_html/assets/. I set my resource URL to http://www.sottwell.com/assets/ just to be on the safe side. Usually assets/ or maybe /assets/ is sufficient.

          On my local environment, it comes to /Applications/MAMP/htdocs/096/assets/ (for the site I have for working with 096 versions); the 096 part changes according to the folder I put a given installation in.

            You can also put this in a snippet and add the snippet to a document to get the path to index.php then edit it to point to your assets:

            <?php
            return $_SERVER['DOCUMENT_ROOT'];
            ?>

              ok i set those address as suggested but it still doesn’t show up what’s in that dir and it still says i don’t have permission to add new folders etc, what else can i now do?

              just to clarify also that my "Resource Path" is set to: /var/www/htm/assets/

              and the below "Resource URL" is just: assets/

              permissions all seem to be writeable in my ftp client...

                    Maybe the individual users paths are not set. Check to see if the checkbox next to the path settings is selected to use the default settings for each member user (in the user profile).

                      sorry not sure which tick boxes you mean exactly? basically the FCKeditor comes up fine with text and images etc in there and you click to add an image and then you click to browse but nothing is in the browser... (but my images folder is full of stuff...)
