New Quickcast: Manager plugin - QuickManagerNav

Synopsis:

Navigating from a resource to one of its siblings is sometimes very slow. There is a whole lot of clicking involved.

Often we just want to move the the next or previous resource with the same parent or to another sibling on the same level.

In this situation QuickManagerNav will make things much easier...

I think this plugin is especially useful if used with other plugins that hide child resources like: articles, collections or grid_class_key.

Hey pepebe -- just a quick feedback:

I'm testing the plugin on Revo 2.2.14-pl LAMP with Articles (current version), but it's not working.

It's possible that I'm missing something.

I installed ManagerQuickNav as a plugin, checked the 'OnDocFormRender' system event and made sure the plugin is not disabled.

So far it has been tested with standard resources and collections.

As far as I remember articles is doing quite a lot of stuff with modx. It might be possible that it is not compatible.

Does it work with other resources?

Yep, it's working with standard resources .

Once fully functional, this could absolutely be a great addition.

As far as I can tell, Articles doesn't fire any System Events. I think it has its own Create/Edit Article panel so it's likely that OnDocFormRender is never being called.

@BobRay your right. This problem was caused by me. Articles removed some items from modx-action-buttons before I tried to do that to. Its always good to check if an element exists before you apply any changes to it. Lesson learnt...

Update: I noticed that creating a new child resource in Articles takes some extra link properties:

As you can create a new resorce with the (+) Button, I got to solve this next. Will take a few days hours minutes though...
