Thanks for the reply....Unfortunately this won’t work...
I’d like to be able to create a silo’ed architecture to pass PageRank only to certain pages based on the silo. Using the "link attribute" field will no follow every link...
Is there a way to nofollow wayfinder links in some templates and not others? Tks
Can you give an idea of your site structure and which docs should be "no follow"?
This would help to see if the Wayfinder templating could be adjusted to suit.
I’ve done this but I’ve do how ganeshXL suggests. Just simply put rel="nofollow" in the Link Attributes for all the documents you don’t want to be passed any page rank.
There’s no point adjusting Wayfinders template to add this because it will add if there’s a value in that field. If you’ve got links within the document they will still be followed unless you also manually put rel="nofollow" on them.
The no follow on the nav items would change based on the different silos of the website.
e.g.
Website with 3 distinct categories (i.e. silos) . All the navigation links are no follow except the links to that category.
This allows pagerank to flow within a silo and not leak out into other silos that maybe (for example) less important.
Does that make sense?
Thus, you cannot make the rel attribute "nofollow" since that’ll make that link no follow all the time.
Tks
Hi,
yu could create a tv for this purpose.
tv named noFollow
options values:
Yes==rel="nofollow"||No==
and then add in your WF chunks
<a href="[+wf.link+]" [+noFollow+] >...
:-)
