    hello everyone ;]

    1. there is something that i dident understand with the users system.
all the users groups ect’ are just for something like a sort of a "admin" access management?
what i thoat the all the users access and permissions are for who can access this page group and who doesnt.

in my site, im the only admin.
i dont need no help XD .

i just want the unregistered members of my site to have to login to view pages ....
    not something complicated....

if i understanded right all the users permissions are for admin members. no?
if no that i dident understand nothing ’-_- ....

    2. how do i do a small and simple login form for my site users?
and how to make them not to access any page but the index page?

    3. i use "MaxiGallery_0.5.2". how do i make a connection with my sites users permissions to upload images
for example to a gallery called "BLABLA"?

btw sorry for my English tongue

end sorry for the ton of question....

      Hi

There are two kinds of Users: Manager Users and Web Users. Manager Users are - as the name indicates - users that have access to the manager interface. That sort of User you would call "Admin".

Web Users however, are users that visit your Website.

The Manager Permissions and Web Permissions allow you to create "user groups" and "document groups". You can add multiple users to a "user group". Documents are added to document groups whenever you edit a Document and assign groups to it.
By editing the "User/Document group links" you’ll define what kind of users have access to which document groups.

Confusing? It’s simpler than it sounds smiley

Edit: Since you’re the only manager user, you can skip the whole manager part and only focus on the web-user setup.
Here some quick steps you could take:
      * Create a new Document Group: eg. "ProtectedWebPage"
      * Create a new Webuser Group: eg. "PrivilegedWebUser"
      * Add the document-group "ProtectedWebPage" to the user-group "PrivilegedWebUser" in the "User/Document group links" section
      * Create a new Webuser and make him a member of the "PrivilegedWebUser" Group by klicking the appropriate checkbox in the "Web access permissions" Section of the "Create Webuser" Dialog
      * Create Documents or edit existing Documents and add them to the "ProtectedWebPage" Group

After that, all Documents that belong to the ProtectedWebPage Group are no longer accessible if not logged in. Therefore you should have a "unrestricted" Webpage with a login form. You can use the "WebLogin" Snippet to display the login form.

Sure i could. But sometimes it is very satisfying to find out something on your own grin
Maybe you should look at the MaxiGallery Documentation. Especially the parts talking about "webusers"... hint hint
          http://wiki.modxcms.com/index.php/MaxiGallery

Question 2 was already answered in my first post. Use the "WebLogin" and "WebSignup" snippets that come with your MODx installation.

i did this exact thing :

You can use the "WebLogin" Snippet to display the login form.

then, when i entered to the web login snippet to a new page, i just shows me my index page. but with the new pages link in the firefox address bar.
                very wired =\

is it possible that it is cause that i have my own theme?

but im a PHP coder... i know how to build a index page ’-_-

Hi. This is because you restricted your pages!
Make sure, the index page belongs to the Group All Document Groups (Public).
Then you should create another Document (public as well) with the login snippet and enter the ID of this newly created Document in the Site Configuration under Unauthorized page. This is the Page user will be redirected to, whenever they try to visit a restricted page! You should then explain on this page why they are landing there and that they must create an account and log in to view the requested document.
Since you did not created a Document for "Unauthorized page", MODx just redirected you to the index Page...

ok i understood what you are saying.

this is what i wrote in the newly created login document :
                    [[WebLogin‏]]

                    bla bla ligit now biatchhhh

                    test test

it does not shows any of the things i wrote =\
not the login snippet or the text i wrote...
just a blank page where my newly created login document suppaused to be.

sorry that i am really stupid XD
its just a bit difficult to understand.....

First of all, you should call the Login Snippet uncached. Like this:
                      [!WebLogin!]

Are you sure, you entered the correct ID into the "Unauthorized page" Field?
You have to set the Group for this Document to "All Document Groups (Public)" as well.
