I installed FormIt and forms shows up but nothing happens even if no email to send is done.
There are lot of tutorials and none works.
Does anybody have a really working form?

    Thanks,

Try installing QuickEmail with the &debug option to diagnose any problems with the mail system. http://bobsguides.com/quickemail-snippet-tutorial.html

Sometimes the host is picky about the sender address and/or domain.

Sometimes using SMTP by changing the MODX SMTP System Settings helps.

Be careful with the properties, especially that &validate property. I'm always leaving an extra comma after the last validation rule, or forgetting to close the &validate property after the last rule.

              Hi Susan and Bob,

              Very good tips.
So, now my form works and does also FormSave.
The mail sending part still is weird.
I installed QuickEmail and that used as Bob said in his blog.
It says all is working fine but still emails not sent.
I assume this can be due to the fact that I have the modx inxtalled locally using XAMPP on windows 7.

Your answers made me mopre courage to not give up with Formit and at least now I may play with own hooks and stuff there.
I am happy to see a good and fast answering community here at Modx forum. Thank you very much smiley

              Wish you a nice day,
              Zita

Bob, I guess I know what you mean but I only started since 2 months modx and did not at all used Evo till now.
I can imagine that switching between Evo and Revo may lead to such behaviours you described above.

I am very glad to have such a good support and I really enjoy ModX.

Yes, XAMPP has a mail server but I've never been able to make it work and have never seen a good description of how to make it work. I don't know how QuickEmail could be successful on XAMPP unless you're using SMTP and an account you have somewhere else (e.g., Gmail). That works fine under XAMPP.

For $15 a year you can get email hosting with SkyToaster, and their support is excellent. Setting up SMTP is quite simple. They're what I'm using with my MODx Cloud account. http://skytoaster.com/services/hosted-email/
