Hello,
Here’s the scenario:
I have a menu item (NewsPublisher page) which I only want to be visable if the admin is logged in. Similar to the way the QuickEdit just appears when you log in.
I’ve tried with permissions, but all web permissions set to private seem to do is hide it. I need to hide it, unless the user is logged in.
Any help would be great,
Henry

I believe that NewsPublisher works with web user groups.
Indeed it does.
I don’t seem to have a problem with using user groups generally, it’s just that I need the page to be accessible by a web user that’s logged in with admin capabilities (if that’s not an oxymoron).
Edit:>
Okay the story’s changed. I basically want the admin to be part of a web user group. Is this possible?

Okay, I kinda figured that. I’ve sorted most of it now.
I’m however stuck on enabling the frontend Quickedit for webusers. Is this possible?
Or is it possible for an admin to login through the frontend via the WebLogin snippet?

QuickEdit requires manager user authentication in it’s current form.

Thanks very much,
I shall try working with ManagerLogin and see what I come up with.
Edit :>
ManagerLogin works an absolute treat for what I’m trying to do, thank you very much.
Okay I’ve now run into another issue when using ManagerLogin:
I need a page to be inaccessable unless a manager has logged in, in which case it is accessable (in the front end). I would normally do this with web user security control, but clearly I can’t with this.
Any ideas?
