    Hi there,

I have a number of files uploaded to my site (visible on the 'files' tab), however whenever I try to embed them in a web page, it says 'Please specify a valid directory'. I know the files are uploaded, but yet I can't access them.

    Any advice?

Where did you upload the files? In the root directory? You should be able to call them depending on where the files are located on the site.

Version of MODx? How are you trying to "embed" them on a web page?

Thanks - I have MODX Revolution 2.1.4, and some are uploaded in the root directory while others are in sub-files. I'm trying to embed them in my web pages over in the 'resources' tab. Our website works fine, and we USED to be able to load files with ease, but now when I'm working on a page and go to find a document to put in the page, it's simply not there. I can view the directory, but there are just no files. This all sounds dumb and confusing I'm sure. I wish I were better at explaining it.

You are using the "insert image" button in the rich text editor when editing a resource?

No, when I'm editing a resource, and I go into 'template variables' to upload a document, it brings up a new window that *SHOULD* show all my files (for me to select one). Only they're not showing up. I get the aforementioned error message.

This might not be it, but are the directories called something odd - I have seen this sometimes if the names include odd character the script doesn't like
                e.g ~!?& etc

If you can, FTP to the directories and just check for any strange/odd naming in any of the path

Thank you very much. I'll try and figure out how to do that. I'm not just sure how, but I might be able to do it. Either way, I really appreciate you all trying to help me out.

If you go to the "Files" tab (in the Tree panel on the left), can you access the files there?

Hi there, yes, I can view all the files if I click on the files tab (which is actually on the right hand side for me).
