What's the best way to beautify the form used to add a new grid row in the Manager? Right now, there's a large gap between the caption and the input field and my checkbox is appearing in the center of the screen. The "width" setting is being ignored -- the text inputs go to the right edge of the tab.

I'm using standard TV types for all fields (text, checkbox). Do I need to create a separate TV for each field?

Also, the checkbox field value doesn't seem to be stored. It's always checked when the form comes up, but the value is always blank in the grid.

which version of MIGX are you talking about? The one from repo? Or the latest one from github?
      Do you have a screenshot?
      what is your configuration?

You don't need to create a TV for each field. You can reuse TVs for more than on field.
And you don't need to create any TV, if not one with special configurations.
In most cases you can use inputTVtype
      {"field":"myCheckbox","inputTVtype":"checkbox","inputOptionValues":"optionA||optionB"}

you can also use the MIGX - Configurator-CMP and create configurations there.
then you would just fill the configs - field of the MIGX-TV with the name of your configuration.

It's the one from the repo.

My config was working with one tab, but now that I've tried to add more, it's all messed up. Let me say what I'm trying to do, since I'm not sure how to configure it.

I want three tabs that show up immediately (not after you click on the Add button), each with its own grid and Add button.

        User Groups Tab
           Grid Columns
               Name(text)
               Tag(text)

        Merge Variables Tab
           Grid Columns
               Name (text)
               Tag(text)
               Required(Checkbox /Yes==1||No==0)

        Interests Tab
           Grid Columns
               Name(text)
               Tag(text)

        Is this even possible?

I'm not sure to understand your question.

The tabs are only there in the window, which opens after you click 'Add Item'
Can't you create three MIGX-TVs? One for each grid?

You can format the form with the css file in assets/components/migx/css/mgr.css - only problem is I think this file get's overridden when you upgrade ?

I could, but I was thinking I'd rather not have all three grids showing at once. I wanted to put one on each ttab with its own add button and its own popup data-entry form.

Aah, you want to have three tabs directly on the Main-TV-Form and in each tab another MIGX-TV, right?

I want the three tabs to show when you click on the MIGX category when you're on the main TV tab.

Ultimately, this will probably be part of a CMP, which might make it easier to have three MIGX TVs and put one on each tab.

By default, with MIGX its only possible to have the tabs inside the window, which opens on Add item.
For having three MIGX-TVs on custom-tabs inside the TV-panel you will need a special custom-TV which loads TVs inside tabs.

In a MIGXdb - CMP you could have a grid on each CMP-tab. It is designed to have MIGXdb-grids there, but should also be possible to have normal MIGX-grids there, or grids, which work like MIGX-grids.

                      Thanks, that's good to know.

Will MIGXdb work with a remote data source? I won't have anything in the MODX DB (unless I have to).

It sounds like I may end up using good old ExtJS, especially since much of the project is already in that form.
