Has anyone a solution for inline grid editing in MIGXdb/MIGX?
There are certain things like a sort number field which would be easier to number if you don't have to open each row to edit it. Also potentially it would be awesome to have drag/drop sorting in MIGXdb grid like a normal MIGX grid.

By any chance somebody found out already?
Inline editing would be great, for the sorting I think that's not possible because it's not a JSON object (as in a normal MIGX TV) but a "real" DB table, so if it's a XPDOsimpleObject it has an autoincrement id in the table and drag and drop reordering would probably make a big mess (not a DB specialist, but I'd not like to try that on my installation =D)...
Sorting in MIGXdb can be done for whole columns (you can set this in MIGX config) and it also can be searched...I think if you want to sort something in a MIGXdb, you should do it when outputting it...
not sure about if what I wrote is right, but maybe Bruno can shed some light on it^^
I think I understand now what the reordering problem was about =)...I actually cannot find any way to reorder migxdb childresources, also changing order in the tree (menuindex, when childs not hidden) doesn't affect the order taken by migxdb, it seems to be always taking the order of data entry...any way to reorder the items (via drag and drop would be most intuitive...)?
you can set the default-sort-configuration (in MIGXdb settings) to menuindex.
I will also redo the childresources - tutorial and add some new features, where its possible to do sorting the menuindex by selecting a new position in the grid for a selected row. This does also work on paginated grids.
trying todo drag/drop-ordering in a paginated grid is not very funny (coding- and usability-wise)
I will also add the columnswitch-renderer to published and show_in_tree in that tutorial, so people can see how to setup the direct-in-grid switching of options by clicking an icon.

How about inline grid editing for Text?
Like the way you change values in System Settings.
(Clicking on the value activates editing mode and brings the input box)
Bruno17, I tried to default-sort migxdb by menuindex, but the content just disappears. I must be missing something. Any ideas?
(modx 2.3.5, migx 2.9.4)
is this issue somehow related to this thread?
