Howdy!
There's been
a couple of
blog post on the
subject of this thread, but I'd like to kick off a thread to allow discussion / basic Q&A on one of my latest Extras: ClientConfig!
ClientConfig is a component (installable via package management) that lets you set up site-wide configuration that you want your client to use. The configuration is exposed to templates and the api in the same way system settings are (and you can even override system settings if you give your clientconfig settings the same name), without having your clients poking around the system settings grid. Whew!
Some links to get you started:
If you have serious issues with ClientConfig, I'd like to suggest creating a separate thread, and posting the link in this one so we can keep it organised
What some people are saying about ClientConfig on Twitter:
So excited to have just discovered #MODX ClientConfig add-on by @mark_hamstra. My aspirin budget for 2013 is being re-evaluated.

If you haven't tried @mark_hamstra's ClientConfig check it out. I can't think of a client managed site that it wouldn't be a good fit for.

.@mark_hamstra ClientConfig is excellent. Great job! #modx
