Is there a way to place a maximum number of entries in a MIGX template variable? Thanks!

Limit would take care of that, here are all of MIGX options:

Good luck.

Sorry if I wasn't specific enough, I was referring to limiting the number of entries a user can add in the backend.

Ben Morrison, did you ever find a way of limiting the number of possible items in the MIGX TV grid? Wanted to check before I start getting into this.
There is a max migx items option in MIGX Management

This is regarding MIGX as a TV, not MIGXdb. Where is the MIGX Management (Nothing exists in Plugin properties, System Properties) and there is no max item in the TV Input options. I would assume this has to be entered as a config option on the MIGX TV, just need to know syntax since I can't find a reference to it in the docs.
under components, you create your migx configuration using the editor and link it to a tv.
instaed of the TV-configurations formtabs and columns you would create a MIGX-configuration, where you can set the formtabs and columns and other special settings like the item-limit.
Than use the name of this configuration for the field 'configurations' in your TV - setup.

Got it. After eighth day's post, that is what I started to do. This was apparently an older MIGX implementation, so while I was trying to avoid conversion from TV to MIGX config, decided it was going to be faster.
Any idea of how to add a caption without an input field? Client wants some extra "instructions" text on the form tab. It looks like I need a custom TV, but wanted to find out if there was a better way.
you can try to put something into the description - textarea and check 'description is code'
