Hello,
Does anyone have any thoughts on this please? I'm a bit stuck.
Thanks.
It's almost certainly a path issue of some kind. The message just means that the $modx object wasn't successfully initialized.
See if anything here helps:

Thanks for the reply. I did try all those with no luck, but have subsequently found I did not backup my database properly the first time. So effectively I'm using the 2.2 code base with a 2.2.2 database.
I can't upgrade to 2.2.2 because the Gateway Manager doesn't work with that version, but cannot access the manager at all now - so I'm in a bit of a pickle!
I'll need to find some way around the gateway manager so that I can upgrade properly.
Thanks.
You could try going into PhpMyAdmin and disabling the Gateway Manager plugin. In modx_site_plugins, find that plugin and change the disabled field from 0 to 1. Then delete all files in the core/cache directory.

Im facing the same issue,
with no upgrade in the process or what so ever migration..
it was a new site, when i access
url/manager/
it shows
Call to a member function get() on a non-object
Fatal error: Call to a member function get() on a non-object in [rootpath...]\core\model\modx\modmanagerresponse.class.php on line 41
but when access with
url/manager/?a=62, login form works..
anyone could help?
p/s: im facing lots of problem on windows machine now that i nearly want to give up on modx...
Are you using IIS or something else as a server (XAMPP?).
I can't think of any reason why adding a query string would affect things unless Friendly URLs are turned on and there's no .htaccess file.
If you're using XAMPP, make sure that mod_rewrite is enabled. It's off by default.

My client just run into this same problem this morning. They're running MODX on a Windows server. When you click on any of the MODX documents in the Manager under the Resources tab, the documents load fine. But if you go into the Elements or Files and try and open any Templates, T.V.'s, Chunks, etc., you get this error:
Fatal error: Call to a member function get() on a non-object in D:\PORTAL-DATA\Websites\domain-name.com\core\cache\includes\elements\modsnippet\1.include.cache.php on line 107
Anyone figure out a solution to this yet?
