I am running MODX on a Windows Server. Everything was running run and it was moved by the host to a new Windows Server and now the File Manager does not show any files. If doesn't show anything under the Files tab, if I open the MODX Browser it shows the folder structure but no files.

This was running 2.0.4-pl2. I thought upgrading may work, I upgraded to 2.2.0-pl2 and still have this issue. I need to get this resolved asap. [ed. note: landonpoburan last edited this post 14 years, 7 months ago.]

Check directory permissions, check your error logs in MODx and on the server to see if there are any. You might need to manually add the path to your asset directory in MODx Media Source.

Currently, when I go to the Files tab and open the MODX Browser and click on the images folder, it says "No files match the specified filter."

No errors are showing up in the error log.

for basePath in Media Sources, how do you set it? Is it the web path like /assets/ or is it the server path like

/user/domain/assets/ (the same path that is set in config.inc.php)?

All those paths look incorrect if you on a windows server. Paths are normally mapped with a drive name c:\ or something like that. Create a file with phpinfo() inside it, in the root of your server and see what the path is inside of it.

            Thanks I did just that.

Under php variables, the path to the file are the same as the config file. It is running apache.
I went into media sources and enter /assets/ for basePath and it updated the folders being displayed in the MODX Browser, I then tried the FULL Path and set relative to no, that did the same.

Both show the folder structure, but no files. Says "No files match the specified filter." with you click on a folder.

All files in /assets/ are chmod 777

Can you check the owner of the folder and make sure its the same as the owner of MODx. Do ls -la that should tell you the owner and group. Is this a fresh install? and are you running apache on a windows server?

Through Filezilla I can see that most files/folders are owned by 501 48 (owner group)
Some are owned by 501 501, and recent image uploaded through cms on new server are owned by 48 48

How can I tell what the owner of MODX is? And what the owner should be?

Do you have shell access to the filesystem? chown -R 48:48 assets/ and then try again and see what happens.
