I’m planning a page for a record label. My first thought was to create a database and then query it with modX. But after reading some post in the forum I’m not sure if I can make the same with TVs. I’ve four tables in the db artist(Name, description, photo) records (number, name, artist, date) songs (recordnumber, title, mp3) and dates(artist, date, location). My question is what will be the best way to this.

How many artists/albums do you have?

At the time there are circa 200 records and 40 artists.
In real world applications I’ve done sites with over 3000 documents and numerous TVs with no noticeable performance hit at all, so I definitely agree that this would be straightforward and easy-to-manage using TVs.
Ok, could you give me some hints how to organize the data. My thought is to have an artist page (with the artist infos) as folder where all records and dates from the artist are placed. But how to I organize the songs? As TVs in the record or as single pages in an record folder?

I would use the following structure:
Artist
Album (with a variety of TVs for "meta data" including date)
Songs (maybe a TV, maybe content... but a big list in a single field)
You’d likely need to use Hyperflex Search in order to be able to search in TVs.

I did something like this with a modified ppp. (The administrator adds unique items).
I use the ppp list function instead of ditto. Then I modified HyperFlexsearch to use 2 new parameters, tableToSearch and chunktoShow. So I tell hyperflex to search my ppp table and use my ppp-list chunk to show the results. It took a few weeks but it is working pretty well. I did this when I learned Hyperflex doesn’t search TV’s.
