When I try and login to the manager for my MODx site I get the following error:

I know that the problem is most likely related to the fact that my host only allow me to use 8 mb memory, but ain’t it possible to remove some features to make MODx work anyway ?

Thanks for updating your post. MODx should work more than fine in 8MB of memory. Have you tried re-uploading your manager folder, making sure to keep your config.inc.php folder?

I just tried overwriting the manager folder and it didn’t help. It still gives the same error.

The strange thing is that it worked fine yesterday and now it doesn’t, the main page still works fine.

Which version of MODx? If not the final 0.9.5 release, you’ll need to update that too.

Did you by chance add a plugin or make some other change to your manager that might be looping and causing you to run out of memory (8 MB is plenty, btw)?

I actually didn’t change anything and never have changed anything relevant to the manager.

The funny thing is... I have a session that is logged in and working fine, but I just can’t get it to login with any account besides the one already logged in (I’m abit afraid of logging that one out since I don’t see any way to gain access again.

Edit: Although the already logged in manager is working fine, it shows me an error on just about all the pages at the bottom: Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 8388608 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 1818387 bytes) in /var/www/html/manager/includes/document.parser.class.inc.php on line 1287

Do you have the Preview window turned on? I’m just wondering if perhaps you have some script loading that loops infinitely when in the manager. If you’re using a snippet that bombs when in the manager, the Preview window might be sufficient to provoke a crash.
