      UPDATE instruction:

      • Copy your old config file assets/modules/easy2/includes/configs/config.easy2gallery.php
      • If you made custom templates, also copy your templates to the new folders with the same structure.

I just updated the package, bugfixed small issues on the slideshow’s image fetching and plugin trigger on snippet call.

        Hi.

        I´m still not on E2G´s best-of-friends-list wink

After the update to RC2 on localhost the only call that works is the basic [!easy2!] :’( (but I haven´t tested all of them yet...)

On my previous E2G-version 272 I was getting good renders from the basic easy2 call, all the gallerific versions, and contentflow. But NONE of the galleryview calls rendered ok

I updated to RC2 following instructions as has been detailed before. This time I did get a prompt in the Modules tab to delete the install folder smiley

(Details: I first renamed both the old libs-and easy2-folders. I then put in the new libs and easy2 folders in their respective places. And yes, I moved the ...config.easy2gallery.php file from the old folder to the new one.)

I turned on debug-mode and got a long list of errors. See attached .rtf-file for details...

The only call that produces an image-gallery output is the basic [!easy2!]. In all other instances I´m not getting any image-output at all, just the basic html-page with an empty space where the images should have appeared.

I wanted to doublecheck that the path to slideshows were correct. But it seems there´s a bug when the debug-mode is on. I can´t turn it off! The "Menu"-button within the Easy2 Module is not clickable anymore. And then I don´t know how to access the settings anymore...

Clearing the Cache under "Utilities" produces no improvement, and at the bottom of the page there´s a new line which states "Error 8: Undefined variable: enable_debug
            File: /Applications/MAMP/htdocs/modx103miatest/manager/includes/debug.inc.php Line:5"

            Hope this helps!

            :)

Please download the package again: e2g-1.4.0-rc2-r277.zip

I also want to announce that I have deleted the Easy2’s Git account.
I found it’s difficult to maintain the diffs since git fetches a whole directory while easy2 has assets/libs/ and assets/modules/easy2 .
Rather to bring more headache to my days, I reverted it back to google’s svn.

Please post more bugs if you find one again.

Hi again, your respons is fast! grin

Another small challenge when upgrading has surfaced...

Again following the previously upgrade instructions (I have them open in a Textedit window so I can see the procedure step-by-step as I go along wink ) there is no file with the exact name "config.easy2gallery.php" in the old folder huh

I know, it´s hard to believe so I´ve attached a screengrab proving my case wink I´m dead certain I did this correct when I upgraded to RC2...

Do I just simply handle it as a new install?

I believe that the "config.easy2gallery.php" is only in rc1 versions, so your first upgrade from that would have it, but it would then copy those datas to the db and delete the config file. Your next updates would read directly from the data base only since that is where rc2 now stores this info.

                    exactly!
                    thanks, Islander.

after installation complete, don’t forget to:

                    • save your config => to update the new settings
                    • synchronize => to fill up the new fields in the database

Well, that debug-option really f.&$#/"%#&%..ed up my localhost easy 2 installation...

Upgrading to 277 seemed to go fine, except there was an error message when running the install. And when I afterwords opened the module, the debug-mode was still on, and it was not possible to click on the "debug off" button. The button was there, but it wasn´t clickable.

I decided to plunge into unknown territory shocked

I opened the javascript debug config file in Dreamweaver, and toggled the debug mode there, but without improvement. And I made sure I left the file in it´s original state afterwards wink

I then opened phpAdmin and deleted all easy 2 gallery files grin hoping that a fresh install would make life happy again undecided This turned out not to be the case, so I guess I´ll have to reinstall MODx again...

My gut-feeling is that the initial RC2 did have some significant errors in it, and that the debug function definitely is one of them.

I´ll keep my fingers crossed for the updates
