Since I started using the Gallery plugin i’ve noticed that it is very slow and seems to be re-creating thumbnails every time. Today I updated to the newest 1.2.1 release which should have fixed the issue by using phpthumbof. I’ve also Installed phpthumbof through the package manager after updating gallery, but I can’t see any speed difference.
I also noticed that phpthumbof doesnt make thumbs in the cache directory "assets/components/phpthumbof/cache". What am I doing wrong? And how can I activate this phpthumbof so it works with gallery? I’m using the Gallerific plugin my albums. The template looks like this:
[[!Gallery? &album=`MyAlbum` &autoStart=`0` &gallerifficThumbWidth=`32` &gallerifficThumbHeight=`32` &plugin=`galleriffic` &imageWidth=`500` &imageHeight=`500` &navigationWidth=`200px` &numThumbs=`52` &prevLinkText=`< Vorige` &nextLinkText=`Volgende >` &playLinkText=`Slideshow afspelen` &pauseLinkText=`Slideshow pauzeren` &enableTopPager=`0` &defaultTransitionDuration=`500` &delay=`4000` &maxPagesToShow=`4`]]
Can someone please assist? I love the gallery plugin, but in some cases (e.g. when loading an album with 500 pictures) it’s very very slow, even on 20mbit internet. :’(
