[SOLVED] MaxiGallery not working right.

ok, I am still having problems getting this to work.
I have everything else working on my site except this.

I am trying to setup four galleries on one Portfolio page.
The problem is that they are all containing the same pictures.
When I click on "Manage Pictures" my banner pics show up as well and block the top of the page.

My portfolio page looks like this:
Here are some samples of our work.
Logos
[!MaxiGallery? &display=`childgalleries`!]

Graphics
[!MaxiGallery? &display=`childgalleries`!]

T-Shirts
[!MaxiGallery? &display=`childgalleries`!]

Events

The call on each page is this:
[!MaxiGallery? &display=`embedded` &embedtype=`slimbox` &pics_per_row=`3` &max_thumb_size=`110` &max_pic_size=`0` &thumb_use_dropshadow=`1`!]

How can I fix this?
The ids for the pages are:
Portfolio (3)
Gallery 1 (9)
Gallery 2 (10)
Gallery 3 (11)
Gallery 4 (12)

Is this your Portfolio page? (3)


If so, that’s the problem.

When using MG like that, it takes the galleries that are inside the current document (eg, id 9-12) and displays a random image from there.

What you should do, is make one MG call (which could be just [!MaxiGallery? &display=`childgalleries`!] but probably expanded for styling) which shows the 4 different galleries/categories Logos, Graphics etc.

Then when you click on either of those categories you go to that gallery with your call [!MaxiGallery? &display=`embedded` &embedtype=`slimbox` &pics_per_row=`3` &max_thumb_size=`110` &max_pic_size=`0` &thumb_use_dropshadow=`1`!]

Sorry, I still don’t get it.
I have been trying a bunch of different thinkgs and nothing is working.

Isn’t there a good example or tutorial somewhere?
I have been searching for days and not finding anything.

So do you want that the portfolio page has all thumbnails for every gallery, or just some random thumbnail from each and then link to the specific gallery document?

In your portfolio page, under each section use a maxigallery call that queries 3 random thumbnails from a specific gallery for example:



And create links below those thumbnails for users to access the gallery documents (with <a href="[~9~]".... etc).

Then in each of your gallery page, use:

[!MaxiGallery? &display=`embedded` &embedtype=`slimbox` &pics_per_row=`3` &max_thumb_size=`110` &max_pic_size=`0` &thumb_use_dropshadow=`1` &is_target=`1`!]

But I’m not exactly sure what you’re after.. so.. does this sound right?

Your example of the three random thumbnails is what I am looking to do.
I made your changes, but I now lost the "Manage pictures" button.
There also seems to be some old references coming up in the source code.
Not sure where the div class thumbscontainer is coming from.

The thumbs container comes from maxigallery. Is the page online? If so, give a link to it and post the exact content from the document.

No, that’s not the problem, but I could have looked what the problem is.

ok, I have tried two different ways to display my banner images at the top of the page.
I tried the jQuery programs Easy Sliderhttp://cssglobe.com/post/3783/jquery-plugin-easy-image-or-content-slider and the jQuery cycle plugin http://malsup.com/jquery/cycle/
Both give me the same problem.
I also tried eliminating the confilt with this. jQuery.noConflict(); http://docs.jquery.com/Using_jQuery_with_Other_Libraries

It looks like I may have to turn off the banner swap, get Maxigallery working and then upload my site.

The index pages changed to 4, 5, 6 and 7
I followed the steps from doze above.
I do not get the Manage Pictures button to appear.

What do to now?
