[Modification] Picture and thumbnails on same page

I needed something like http://wiki.modxcms.com/index.php/MaxiGallery#Picture_and_thumbnails_on_same_page, but without the use of JavaScript. I modified maxigallery.php (see attached) and added &manage and `thumbview`, so I can use 2 MaxiGallery calls on the same page.



Parameter &manage=`0` allows to control where the "Manage Pictures" is displayed. Attribute `thumbview`, i.e. &display=`thumbview`, forces the call to always display thumbs. I tagged the modified lines with "// eerne", but feel free to remove this tag.

Install instructions: (edited 2010-01-01)

• Get MaxiGallery_v0.6_test_version.zip from http://modxcms.com/forums/index.php/topic,24600.0.html (Last Edit: 17-Mar-2009, 05:59 AM by doze)
• Install snippet from http://modxcms.com/forums/index.php/topic,24600.msg227450.html#msg227450 (don’t forget snippets begin with <?php and end with ?>)
• Download attached maxigallery-2010-01-01.php.zip and replace the file assets/snippets/maxigallery/maxigallery.php

Former version had a bug with &manage=`0`. It should now work correctly. Sorry for that! (edited 2010-01-01)

for me it’s important to have this setup working without JavaScript, for example you can copy/paste uri etc., additionally one can use js and add some funky effect now.

pictureTpl is cool, but how and what Tpl for thumbs?

galleryPictureTpl is used for thumbnails. See maxigallery wiki page for the templates.

Yes... is it correct that thumbview makes it change right in spot, if one wanted only one maxigallery call? Messing
around I always had it to change on both places. Both in pictureview and thumbview.

I’m sorry, but I still don’t get at all what you are talking about..

I don’t understand how the images switch, and when I tried this I had images changing on both places as where both of
the calls are at the same time. Instead of having the thumbs displaying big picture on just one place.

But never mind I used the javascript solution (wiki) + above chmod fix + &manageOuterTpl=`@CODE:` &manageButtonTpl=`@CODE:`
to have it all working inside one document and gallery.

Usually you only have one MG snippet call with first the thumbs and then the picture. My solution is to use 2 calls. One call always shows the pictureview the other one always the thumbview. The modification was:
1) a new display mode "thumbview" so it always displays the thumbs
2) manage=0 to controll the managepictures button/form and prevent from a duplicate of the manage part
