I’ve searched this forum, but i can’t find a solution...

I have made a link with FCK Editor, and on the second tab (target) set that the link should open in a popup window . As long as i don’t give a title to this popup, it opens in a new window, but when i set the title, the pop-up don’t work.

What’s the problem? Somebody here can help me?

No, because that would mean that there is a broken link on my website... That wouldn’t be good, because i have (according to the integrated stats in Modx/Etomite) more then 10.000 visitors a month.

But I will try to explain the problem more clearer:

On my website i’ve made a new document, in which I’ve have a link in the content-area (FCK-editor). In the link properties I have set that it should open in a pop-up window.

In the editor you then get a window with a lot of settings, like resisable and location bar, height, width,... which all are working fine.
But when i set a title for the pop-up window and save the document, and then go and look in my site (launch site), nothing happens when i click on this link, except for a error:
            Line: 1
            Character: 1
            Error: unexpected argument
            Code: 0

(hope the translation for the error is ok, as I am not using an English version of IE).

I hope you can help me!

Ok. Can you make this link as usual then in the FCK Editor, use the Source button and post what the actual generated link looks like?

I will say that I just tried this on my local working installation, and had no problem with it, the code it generated looks like this:

              <a href="javascript:void(window.open('http://localhost/modx-092/index.php?id=6','contact-us','resizable=yes,location=yes,menubar=yes,scrollbars=yes,status=yes,toolbar=yes,fullscreen=no,dependent=no,width=300,height=400,left=100,top=100'))">Testing</a>

I’ve just created a link, the source code looks like this:
                <a href="javascript:void(window.open('http://www.modxcms.com','Testing Link to ModX','resizable=no,location=no,menubar=no,scrollbars=no,status=no,toolbar=no,fullscreen=no,dependent=no,width=750,height=500,left=20,top=20'))">Testing</a>

I haven’t verified this, but I suspect that the "name" should not contain spaces. It is used the same as "name" fields in any HTML object, such as a form.

Ok, i just did some more tests, and discoverd that as long you don’t put spaces in the title of the pop-up, the pop-up is shown, but the title won’t be displayed in the pop-up.

But when you use a title with a space in it, the pop-up won’t display...

                    Very strange!

The "name" is not a title, it’s a name for Javascript to access the object by, the same as a name for a frame or a form.

Keep in mind that you are dealing with two objects here, a link and a window. So the link can have a name="whatever" attribute; that name applies to the link. The name given along with the url and other attributes in the window.open() function argument list is a name for the window object.

There is a "titlebar" feature, but it appears to be non-standard and I don’t know how it is supposed to work.
