Captchas are not secure any more, the spammers have long since gotten scripts to deal with them. Try the SPForm contact form; it uses several different methods of at least slowing them down.
Thank you all very much for your help. The keyboard thing is sweet... i dont like captcha.. since if there is a chance that my user wont use it due to captcha its not good.
I noticed the same problem too. I didn’t used to get spam with capacha till now but in the past month its unbelievable. they most be paying twice for spammers before the xmas or something
would be very cool if we could simply use additional security features available in spform straight in eform and enjoy both worlds.
The hidden last name field method detailed by Susan here is still working very well for me on multiple websites. You just need to add an eForm event function to make it work. You might give that a try if you don’t want to use SPForm.

I don’t think Captcha will be a viable preventative measure for the most part. Spammers are pretty good at decoding even-obfuscated text these days, so alternate methods are probably a better solution..

Not likely. Though Bob’s SPForm is in the Installer system so you can easily add it to your particular site. We’re trying to get away from distributing a lot of add ons with the installs so we can focus on the core and enhancing it while allowing third-party developers a great tool that makes even complex combinations of snippets/chunks/templates/tvs/plugins and content simple to install.
