    Are there any plans to make eForm XHTML Strict compliant? Just curious if anyone had heard anything, thanks!

      What’s causing it to fail validation?

        After looking at it briefly, it might just be my template chunk but I’ll look at it a little more in-depth tonight to make sure.

          I think that eForm tends to output what you put into it. wink

            I think so too smiley I was trying the template chunk examples in the documentation so there might just be something invalid in the markup in the example. I was wondering why there werent any questions about W3 validation in this forum smiley

              Since it’s tangentially related here, what’s the advantage of a XHTML Strict Doctype over an XHTML Transitional one? I stick with Transitional so I don’t have to use Javascript just to target new windows for links. Other than that, my Transitional documents would validate as strict...

                Technically its the reccomended way to go since Transitional was made for temporary usage anyways but I believe it does have some effect on how browsers render pages (standards mode vs. quirks mode for example) Transitional also allows for certain tags that are deemed presentational (which should optimally be kept in an external stylesheet of some kind)

                  I felt it was better to use this thread as opposed to making a new one, so..

                  I’m using the html from the simple form included in the eform_examples.html (in the eform download) and it wont validate huh

                  My HTML:

                  <p><span style="color:#900;"></span></p>
                  <form method="post" action="contact">

                      <input type="hidden" name="formid" value="feedbackForm" />

                      <p><label accesskey="n" for="Name">Your Name</label>
                      <input type="text" name="Name" maxlength="60"  /></p>

                      <p><label accesskey="e" for="email">Your Email Address</label>
                      <input type="text" name="email" size="40" maxlength="40"  /></p>

                      <p><label accesskey="s" for="department">Subject</label>
                      <select name="department">

                          <option value="1">Web design enquiry</option>
                          <option value="2">Site feedback</option>
                          <option value="3">Miscellaneous</option>
                      </select></p>

                      <p><label accesskey="c" for="comments">Comments</label>
                      <textarea cols="40" rows="10" name="comments" ></textarea></p>

                      </p>
                      <p>
                      <label accesskey="c" for="vericode">code</label>
                      <input type="text" name="vericode" size="20" />

                      </p>

                      <p><input type="submit" name="submit" value="Send Feedback"></p>
                  </form>

                  Could something be out of date (I’m using version 1.4.4), as I had to correct the same problem outlined in this thread

                  Any ideas?

                    It looks like you just forgot to close a tag. Replace what you have with this;
                    <p><span style="color:#900;"></span></p>
                    <form method="post" action="contact">

                        <input type="hidden" name="formid" value="feedbackForm" />

                        <p><label accesskey="n" for="Name">Your Name</label>
                        <input type="text" name="Name" maxlength="60"  /></p>

                        <p><label accesskey="e" for="email">Your Email Address</label>
                        <input type="text" name="email" size="40" maxlength="40"  /></p>

                        <p><label accesskey="s" for="department">Subject</label>
                        <select name="department">

                            <option value="1">Web design inquiry</option>

                            <option value="3">Miscellaneous</option>
                        </select></p>

                      Heh, always the way isn’t it? Thanks

                      Re: the spelling mistake, I’m English, we favour the ’e’ over the ’i’ unless it’s a police investigation, for example wink
