Since Scotty seems to be MIA lately, maybe we should make a v1.3.1 release?

Since it seems like Scotty isn’t touching the script in the near future (the last time I saw him here, or anywhere, was a few months ago, IIRC), maybe a group of us should work together to make a "unofficial" v1.3.1 release?

That way, we could work together to fix bugs and whatnot, instead of having it all spread out. I could apply the bugfixes from the Bug Fixes topic, if you guys wanted.

I think i got an answer from scooty two week ago.. but a release would be nice. Someone should ask him before i think. (would not like to upset him in anyway)
By the way whats the meaning of MIA ?

Has anyone tried emailing or IMing ScottyD on the subject? If he’s not around, then I say go for it. But it’d be a shame to make a new release if he’s about to resurface and post some other goodies.

That isn’t really true : I don’t think there’s a lot of people running original 1.3.0 release.
Instead, there are tons of individual versions applying some of the forum patches.
So I understand Soshite’s request.

Scotty is so prolific building significant addons he sure could use the help then : someone can publish a patched version / release 1.3.1, it wouldn’t be the first time : the repository has quite a few of those

Maybe you didn’t notice but ScottyDelicious is a top contributor, you can certainly understand Soshite’s respect for his work

I was only under the impression that he seemed to be MIA from WLPE, since there’s been nothing done about working on a v1.3.1 release, which would solve a lot of the issues popping up, where newbies don’t know their issue had already been resolved by someone else.

Plus, I thought helping him do an interim release would free up his resources for a v1.4.0 release, with new additions such as a rewritten core for the inputHandler functions (allowing HTML, IIRC).

I’ll send out a PM to him, in case he doesn’t notice this topic.

(And I was meaning that he hadn’t been that active in WLPE, not forum-wide. I know TreasureChest is probably taking more of his time, but WLPE, with the significant # of bugfixes, does need to be fixed at some point in time. Like critical issues, such as the issue where inputHandlers grab YOUR data in Manager mode, not the user’s.)

Good idea Shoshite....i’ve been thinking of starting a thread like this myself after several issues went unanswered or patched individually. Let’s hope we can get some consensus on this!
