Hello all, looking for a bit of help if possible. grin

I’m currently developing a site and need to use Jot ( first time ever ),

basicley I have 3 questions.

1: Is it possible for me to move the approved comments above the area where users can post a comment, meaning people whould have to read / scroll past all published comments before reaching the comment form.

2: I am using the following call so that I make all coments moderated and get a email when a comment is posted, however when I did a test comment I wasn’t notified via email to say a comment had been added, am I doing something wrong ??

[!Jot? &subscribe=`1` &pagination=`10` &moderated=`1` &notifyAuthor =`1`!]

3: I would like to have the ability for a rating system, IE: a star system, is Jot capable of doing this so that when someone adds a comment they can give a rating out of 5 ??

Thanks for any replies.

Paul

1. http://wiki.modxcms.com/index.php/Jot#Layout_Ideas
2. http://wiki.modxcms.com/index.php/Jot#moderated

moderated
allow subscriptions
paginated: 10 comments per page
new posts are unpublished and need to be published by a moderator (in this case a manager user)
a manager account won’t receive notifications. You have to create a webgroup with a webuser that acts as the moderator.
but a manager will receive notifications if
you use Jot 1.1.3+
the manager is the document’s author and
you provide &notifyAuthor=`1`

3. Anyrating [ http://modxcms.com/forums/index.php/topic,24771.0.html ]or star_rating could probably be used!

1: done, thankyou.
2: Sorry I’m not sure on this bit.

you provide &notifyAuthor=`1`

I am using 1.1.3 and am the author, I also have &notifyAuthor=`1` in the call but I’m still not getting notification, do I need to creat a usergroup ??.....

Thanks for the reply.

U could eithe use a rating snippet for the doc itself or you could implement it as
custom field in jot - http://wiki.modxcms.com/index.php/Jot#Custom_fields

Thanks again for the reply,

I was hoping for a "off the shelf system" as I have verry little knowledge of PHP which I presume I would need as I would have to querie the database to see if people had voted and display a image ect relating to the vote result (far too advanced for me).

But thanks for the pointer anyway wink

Yahhh all working,

Thanks a lot guy’s grin

Last question ( Promise, then you can all get back to your own stuff ) lol

I want to remove the "subject" field however I still want the subject to be passed over on the email I get, so I gusee a "display:none" in the css will do it but I need to be able to give that field a class to do it.

What file generates the form as I can’t seem to find it.
