Ditto snippet call not being parsed

Sorry if this is in the wrong place, but it’s been a while since I used ModX

My ditto snippet is actually not being parsed. I have inserted it directly into the template of a page (also tried it in a chunk, and in the content area of the page, and none of them work). Here it is:

[!Ditto? &parents=`10` &orderBy=`createdon ASC` &display=`5` &total=`5` &tpl=`news_summary` !]

Probably being really stupid, but any help would be appreciated.

did you try calling it uncached [! ... !] (since it’s currently not) on that page as well? Ditto is installed ?

It seems that Ditto v 2.1 is installed, and if you mean call it with ! ... ! then yes I am doing that, but I suppose it is weird because it is converting them to [ ... ] once the page is loaded. I am so confused!

Your page source seems to be ’[[ Ditto...’ rather than ’[[Ditto..’ notice no space in front of the ’D’ but I’m not sure if this makes a difference.

do you have any other fancy plugins/snippets installed that might interfere? if so, disable them and see if your call gets parsed...then enable them one by one to see where it breaks

I actually just added the space to see if it would make a difference, but it didn’t so I have now removed it.

I haven’t installed anything other than the default snippets and plugins that come with the base installation. This is driving me mad! I am sure it is going to be something simple and stupid once I work it out

i just tried your call from above on one of my sites (removed the &tpl part) and it’s working....maybe remove the &tpl part as well to see if the underscore breaks it (shouldn’t though)

i guess you got a line break somewhere in your call...when i add one to an uncached ditto-call, it’t won’t be parsed and displayed like [[ ... ]]
