You may indeed have found a bug. Having the call and template to look at is always more helpful. <li[[+wf.id]] class="[[+wf.classnames]] n[[+wf.docid]]"> <a href="[[+wf.link]]" title="[[+wf.title]]" [[+wf.attributes[[+wf.linktext]] [[+wf.wrapper]]

<li[[+wf.id]] [[+wf.classnames]] n[[+wf.docid]]"> <a href="[[+wf.link]]" title="[[+wf.title]]" [[+wf.attributes[[+wf.linktext]] [[+wf.wrapper]]

[+wf.classes+] - where classes specifed will be inserted (includes class=" ")
[+wf.classnames+] - outputs the just the class names (without class=" ")
There is supposed to be two placeholders for getting classnames into an element - wf.classes, which inserts the whole class="" attribute, and wf.classnames, which only inserts the classnames, not the class="" part.
[+wf.classes+] - where classes specifed will be inserted (includes class=" ")
[+wf.classnames+] - outputs the just the class names (without class=" ")
<li[[+wf.id]] class="parent [[+wf.classnames]] n[[+wf.docid]]"> <a href="[[+wf.link]]" title="[[+wf.title]]" [[+wf.attributes[[+wf.linktext]] [[+wf.wrapper]]

I’ve never used "class=" before wf.classnames, Wayfinder should fill that in for you. That’s wrong. This is the case for wf.classes (see sottwell’s reply).
cannot be correct syntax. You see it already from the fact that you have a single " in it.<li[[+wf.id]] [[+wf.classnames]] n[[+wf.docid]]">
What about trying to use &parentRowTpl to see if that fixes the glitch? Then you could change your Tpl (for parentRow) to read as such:
<li[[+wf.id]] class="parent [[+wf.classnames]] n[[+wf.docid]]"> <a href="[[+wf.link]]" title="[[+wf.title]]" [[+wf.attributes[[+wf.linktext]] [[+wf.wrapper]]

This may help in pinpointing if there is some setting wrong in the site, or if it is a glitch in WF.
You can use :
Yes I know. I used wf.classnames because I needed to add a unique identifier on each li to some unique styling. So is this an official bug with Wayfinder then?
