Wayfinder Breaking in Firefox

I think this is the right forum to post this in but if it’s not, I apologize. I’m seeing a really weird issue in Firefox with this site I’m buidling: http://s221107525.onlinehome.us/checkpointHR/

If start using the top nav with Firefox, you’ll see it breaks. It seems to break randomly, meaning I can’t faithfully reproduce the pattern in which it breaks. Now what’s odd is that if you refresh the page after you break the nav, it magically fixes itself

The nav works fine in IE6, IE7 and Safari. This bug only comes up in Firefox. It also happens much more frequently on the Mac version of Firefox. Is this a wayfinder bug, or a Firefox issue? I’m stumped.

It was quite consistant for me, choosing a menu item broke the menu, while refreshing the page "fixed" it. As far as I can tell, however, there is no difference in the source.

these validation errors are just for missing alt tags, so I doubt that will be the issue. In fact, the alt tags missing are for images aside from those used in the top nav.

Also, what I meant by the inconsistent nature of the broken nav is that it breaks in a seemingly random manner. Meaning that the way in which it breaks looks differently each time. I compared the source code from a working example and a broken example and they are the same. Odd..

Something about the css or the javascript that FF doesn’t like. I find that FF 3.0b3 is less prone to the problem and more consistant where it does have the problem. But FF 2.0.0.11 has Firebug, and doen’t have any errors or warnings.

I did get this from the enhanced error console I’ve installed in FF 3.0b3:

Verrry interesing.... in Safari, for just a second there is a flash of the same layout error that is in FF, but then the correct layout appears.

I think you use the background shorthand syntax wrong:
background:url(images/featuredtext_tile.gif) left repeat-x top #81cef5;
should rather be:
background: #81cef5 url(images/featuredtext_tile.gif) left repeat-x top;
i.e. color first, url 2nd, etc.

Here’s another odd behavior, using the Firefox web developers toolbar, if I disable the cache, the nav behaves as it should.
I also tried as a test, disabling all javascript on the page, and the nav still breaks. hmmm.....

I still can’t figure out what’s going on with this top nav, and I really need to resolve this odd issue. The fact that disabling the cache fixes the nav leads me to believe that Modx is only partially loading the values defined in the wayfinder.

Is there anywhere on the Modx community forum where I can look in order to escalate this issue?

It sounds like a Firefox issue more than anything. Make sure you’re testing when not logged into the manager too, in case some things are injected into the site header (like Quickedit stuff).
