This is an auto-generated topic for Babel 2.2.0-pl by mikrobi.

    Brief Description:

Babel is an Extra for MODx Revolution that helps you managing your multilingual websites using differentc ontexts. Babel even supports managing several different multilingual websites within one MODx instance by using so called context groups.
Babel maintains links between translated resources. In the manager you can use the Babel Box to easily switch between the different language versions of your resource. Translations can be created automatically by Babel or defined manually.
Additionally Babel can be used to synchronize certain template variables (TVs) of translated resource which should be the same in every context (language).
Offical documentation is located at http://rtfm.modx.com/display/ADDON/Babel.

        Hello,
thank You for this grate add on!

Please advice me how can I add new TV and context to be synchronized ?
I know that there was an option - when the plugin was installed, but now that is installed I don’t know where to find it.

You can set these option in the system settings in the babel namespace (see attached screenshot)

            OK thanks,
I’m not used yeat to revo, but obiviously that shoud be a place to look for it.

Right now I just don’t know how to "synchornize" those TV. I know that I can do it manually editing and saving linked documents, but since I have more than 100 resources - that is a lot of work. And I’ve found out that if I would firstly edit a language copy resource it will duplicate my empty TV to my main context.

It might be usefull to copy the values of synchronized TVs of the source resource(s) to the target resource when setting a translation link manually. Would this feature help you?

Please post feature request on GitHub. Otherwise they may get lost here in the forum.

              Cheers,

              Jakob

                  Hi,

I'm not fonding any info about tv sync with a migx tv.

This TV is not sync in other language pages.

Should it be declared as "to be sync" before to populate it in the first language ?
how to copy the whole content after ?

                  thank you

Hi, I've got Babel 2.2.5 working perfectly on my site, apart from one thing...

I'm using the Gallery add-on, and I would now like to translate the album names into the various languages (image titles and descriptions too for that matter, but the most crucial thing right now is the album names).

Is there any way to get Babel and Gallery working together? Or do you have any other suggestions how to solve it?

An easy workaround would be to create multiple instances of the albums I suppose, one for each language, but it seems very tedious for websites with many/large galleries.

                    Many thanks!
