  Brief Description:
  
  A simple commenting system for MODx Revolution, complete with a backend management interface, threading support, moderation, notifications, and more.
  Note: Users who have overridden the default chunks in their installs may need to update those chunks to match the default behavior. The form tag in the &tplComment tpl was removed as of 1.0.1. You will also need to add a call to the QuipReply snippet to show the reply form.
  Note that upgrading to 1.0 changes the markup a bit; comments are now in ol/li tags rather than just divs. If you want to revert back to the old style, set &useMargins=`1` in your Quip call.

  Quip rules!
  
  I’ve just started using modx and I was amazed at how quickly I was able to theme and ajax-ify Quip.
  
  Three things I’m wondering -- Is there yet any way to enable comment editing? Also, is there any plan for anti-spam service support (e.g. Mallom)? Finally, aside from playing with mysql, is there any way to delete a thread yet?

  You can delete/manage comments from Quip component interface. Goto Components -> Quip

  Also there is reCaptcha support. just add &recaptcha=`1` to your snippet call.

  I know. I’m asking about deleting threads, preferably from the thread manager page.
  
  And I know that recaptcha is available (though you can’t access the color customization through quip yet). For comments, recaptcha isn’t really as good as an anti-spam service, because users are less likely to post multiple comments if they have to keep recaptchaing. With Mollom/Akismet/etc, no validation is required, and the service prevents publishing any obvious spam based on ip addresses, content scans, and admin preferences.
  
  I think it would be a great addition (Akismet might be the best of these services) and I was only curious if it was going to be in a future version.

  Regarding the anti-spam, I am sure there will be something available soon, if not from the core dev, then from community.

  Hi,
  
  this is a very basic question about the use of Quip:
  
  I want to customize the layout of Quip. Let’s say: In the default-Quip-form the labels are left of the input-fields - how can I get them to the right. Or: I want to have the input-fields a red background-color.
  
  I just don’t see where I could change this. Is there a little advice for me?

  I have the same question as bnetz - how do you customise the form? I’m guessing it should be in a template chunk, but which one do you for example use to change the commenting form...?
  
  Also, is there a way to change the language, or does this have to be done manually by adding custom chunks for everything?

  Pretty please, anyone...? Quip is great, but pretty useless to me and my clients unless it can be customised :’(
