Support/Comments for os_DoxInfo

This is an auto-generated support/comment thread for os_DoxInfo.

Brief Description:
A snippet that outputs any modx document’s creation, publishing and editing -status/-time, as well as name, role, email, phone numbers and photo for the manager responsible for each action (or any combination hereof, in whatever order you prefer)... Think of it as "AuthorTimeStamp" on steoroids (... and thanks to UncleBen31 for the inspiration
os_DoxInfo can display different datasets for normal and for logged-in users.
Output format is semantic XHTML 1.1 strict, and all text and HTML-tags are easily customizable.

NEW RELEASE: Version 0.9.1, Aug. 31st. 2008

• Minor cosmetic enhancements.
• Added ability to insert arbitrary number of tabulators for custom indentation of HTML-output.
• Now ALL texts are user-customizable (I forgot 2 texts in first release).

I still have to give it a test but it seems like a good candidate to improve document workflow, thanks

Well, usable... I hope. Anyway I wanted such functionality, but couldn’t find anything that provided it, so I gave it a spin.

I just hope someone else finds it usefull too.

Anyway, forgive the possibly superfluous coding, as I’m pretty new to php, and have a long way to go in optimizing stuff.

PS: if someone could test the Ditto-compatibility, I would be greatfull... as I don’t use Ditto on my setup.

Nice done. But can’t the same be achieved via phx? ie: [+createdby:fullname+] etc. Or do I miss something?

Not everyone uses PHx, but it could be done.

Well, I wasn’t aware of phx at all, so I have looked at it now, but can’t quite understand what it does... the wiki states: "output modifiers for placeholders, variables and settings tags"... errr... could you please enlighten me?

Anyway, I can’t figure it out, so I guess many, less savy, will never even find it (like I almost didn’t).

os_DoxInfo is a "standard" snipet, easily adoptable by most people, due to the fact, that it works like any other snippet... the modx-documented-copy/paste-and-call-from-template-way. No rocket science needed

It’s good to have an alternative to PHX, which doesn’t always play nice with other features and, as you say, people can use the snippet without having to find and learn PHX.

I think in this case you’re reffering to Scotty’s UserPlaceholders rather than PHx (but then again maybe there is a PHx modifier which does this).
