Easy 2 Gallery PHP Parse Error - Help Needed

Howdy. After getting MaxiGallery totally customized after 15 minutes of teeth gnashing, I’m testing Easy 2 Gallery. I’m interested in e2g because of its module, which theoretically should make it easier for people even less technical than I to use it (not saying much). So far, nothing but teeth gnashing.

The error I’m getting follows -- any input on possible fixes would be greatly appreciated!

is the gallery folder writable?

Sorry, info I should have included. Thanks for tuning in though -- I’ll be stoked to get this working as it looks like an awesome tool.

I’m using Easy 2 Gallery 1.4.0 - RC 1. The gallries folder is writable.

please update to the latest revision again, from the package area.

just give me more info, what you did, or how it occurred.

I followed the instructions and now do not see anything when on the E2G module. It’s a blank page within the MODx interface.

try to delete the install folder manually

Found the folder but before I delete I want to clarify that I have not gotten beyond step 4 in the install directions.

3. Create new module, name it anything (Eg: Easy 2 Gallery), paste <--complete-->
include(MODX_BASE_PATH.’assets/modules/easy2/index.php’);
, click save.

4. Refresh modx manager, then open the module tab. <--complete-->
5. Install following instructions. <--blank ’page’ display-->

Just want to verify that removing the install folder will not interfere with completing the process.

eh?? so you have not finish the installer, yet?

what MODx version are you using?
PHP/MySQL?
Is there any Apache’s log error?

I just tested the brand new installation E2G 1.4.0 RC1 on the brand new MODx 1.4.0.
Flawless.

Right. I created the module, pasted the path in, but upon refresh the page is blank. It isn’t reading the index file, I assume.

MODx 1.0.4, PHP 5.2.13, MySQL 5.1.44. No Apache errors.

Is it possible to start anew -- redo the entire install from scratch? Just not sure what the procedure should be to do this.
