Where is the NewsPublisher snippet?

I’m a newbie going through various tutorials (eg http://wiki.modxcms.com/index.php/Basic_Blog) to learn modx that refer to using the NewsPublisher snippet, but I can’t find it anywhere to download. Has it been superseded by something else or am I not looking in the right places?

It got installed automatically for me when I installed MODx 1.0 with the sample content. Check your installed snippets to make sure it’s not there.

It should also be available for download in the extras section at modxcms.com but I couldn’t find it either.

I swear it was also installed for me when I installed 1.0. Yet it appears to be missing now. Scary stuff! =)

I definitely have it in Evo 1.0.0. It’s version 1.4, the same as the one in the link above.

Thankyou for the help - I’ve used a non-default prefix for my database so that might be why newspublisher didn’t show up as an automatically installed snippet.

I was able to use the link mentioned above, and NewsPublisher is now up and going via a manual install (ie cut and paste) of the snippet.

There is no NewsPublisher in Evolution 1.0 release

Removed News Publisher snippet (did not support TVs)

Maybe those who had it there have upgraded rather than done a fresh install of Evo?

I’m working on publication of PubKit, my own replacement for NP (see In Development, or visit Pogwatch), which I created precisely because things I was doing needed an easy way to let front-end users update template variables.

It does! Calling the page generated by the snippet with "command=delete" in the $_REQUEST variables prompts for confirmation, followed by a return to the page with the command to actually delete the document in question. Both edit and delete commands are initiated from a list management page in the sample files. (I’m updating that page at the moment, but the current simple one is in the screenshot)
