Hi.
This is surely a most wanted one.
I have searched all along the forum but could not find the solution
How can I create a sub menu that depends on the choice made on the top level menu.
Example
- Menu 1
menu 1 sub 1
menu 1 sub 2
- Menu 2
menu 2 sub 1
menu 2 sub 2
I want only 1 sub menu appears depending on the choice made on the top menu.
For the top menu this is the code : [[DropMenu? &levelLimit=`1` &startDoc=0 &hereClass=`curent`]]
This is OK.
For the sub menu I have tried : [[DropMenu? &levelLimit=`1` &startDoc=[*id*] &hereClass=`curent`]]
It works when I click Menu 1 or Menu 2, it shows me only the corresponding sub menu, but when I click on the page (menu 2 sub 1) the sub menu does not show anymore. (because of the *id*)
How can I solve this??
Help will be apreciated.
Michel.
Thank you.
This is a solution with CSS.
But I would like to take profit of the advantages of dropMenu, like hereClass etc..
Michel
Hi,
you should take advantage of the snippet [[UltimateParent]] to achieve this.
You don´t need ultimate parent, you only need one dropmenu call that displays the whole menu. The hiding of submnus and their appearance if the parent item is clicked is done via CSS. That is described in the tutorial (see link above).
U’re right ;-) but If he’s not used to play with css it can be difficult to get the expected result.
Hi Helitrope.
Thank you.
where can I find more info about [[UltimateParent]] ?
Thanks again.
Michel
I have tried the tutorial by Scotty and it works perfectly.
But that is not really what I wanted.
I need the 2 menus on different div : one horizontal in the header(top level) div and one vertical in the side-bar.
