    Brand new fresh installation here.

Why do I receive "Failed to update setting value!" when I try save tools->config updates?

Ideas on how to correct?  The values seem to save okay just not sure about the error message...

    Thanks!

Have you ever installed MODx before? Is it a localhost server or a remote?

One possibility: take a look at this post on mod_security

Otherwise more details on your install stack (the computer or server) IE. Apache/IIS Version, DB and Version, Environment and etc...

        Jay,

This is my second install, first of 0.9.6.1-- still a bit of a newb.

Just got a new remote provider. Running:

        PHP 4.4.7-1
        PHP 5.2.2-1
        Perl v5.8.4
        Python v2.3.5
        Apache 2.0.54
        MySQL 4.1.11
        PostgreSQL 7.4.7

I’ll take a look at the mod_security post. Thanks man.

The message only appears when I update the configuration. tools>configuration

The changes seem to update fine, I just am wondering about the message. ?

I don’t see how mod_security would effect it since it’s only giving me an error with updates to tools>configuration. ?

          Thanks!

I have seen this too and can confirm it’s existence.

              Hi everyone,

I just made a clean install of 0.9.6.1 and got the same problem. Didn’t happen with the same configuration with MODx 0.9.5 before.

              I use PHP 5.2.3 and MySQL 5.0.41

Would be great to find a solution somehow.

              Thanks

              Bogdan

Is the problem the error message or it not actually updating a specific setting value?

Actually its only the (quite ugly) error message (see attached image). The settings are saved.

Garry recently made a commit to fix this, I think.

Thanks Ryan, that worked! Strange, that the Browser can invoke such en error.
