How do I change the Manager Menue depending on user roles and rights?
Lets say there’s an editor which does not need the menu’s support link to the modx api?
You could get started with this:

I hate working with user permissions, it’s a huge pain, so I avoid this when I can. But I hope that helps.

The easiest way is to just assign a custom permission to the menu items you want to hide. This is done in Manager -> Actions.
Be careful, though, be sure you give the admin Super User those custom permissions *first* before setting them in Manager -> Actions or you’ll be painting yourself into a corner. Add them to the Admin policy template and check them on the Admin policy.

Hello
for example I simply need the editor to be able to access the Gallery component - what should I do on this page [called Actions]?
Thanks

Hide all the other menu options from that user as described in the tutorial.
I'm still not sure I understand what you want, but once any component is installed, the Components top menu item should appear automatically and be available to anyone unless you've intentionally hidden it.
That assumes that the component *has* a Top Menu action -- many don't, but Gallery definitely does. You have to reload the Manager page after installing it before the menu item will appear. You may also have to clear the cache and/or flush all sessions.
Are you sure Gallery is installed? The Components menu should appear as soon as Gallery is installed (once the cache is cleared and the page is reloaded).
The Components menu and the Gallery subitem are unprotected and don't require any permission, so anyone who can see the Top Menu should see them.
