Use TV in document title,description,etc.

Hello!

I have searched the forum for this one but couldn’t find anything.

My question is, can I use a TV in document title, description, introtext, etc?
I have used for example in introtext:

but it is not working. Do I have to call in an other way the TV?

the right way of calling your tv is :

[*#MyTv*] instead of [*MyTv*]

I’ve tried to use one of my TV’s in the menu name and it works so I guess it also works for others fields....

Euh sorry, , it works even if you use [*MyTV*]. I’ve tested with description and introtext and it works as well but it seems not possible for Title.

Hmm, yep seems like it’s working. I was testing with Ditto and that’s where it’s not working.

The default installation (with sample site installed) uses TVs in the pagetitle for the login/logout pages. I’ve used them in a number of the document fields with no problem.

[*#MyTv*] is used to make it editable via QuickEdit

If you are using a TV with Ditto you call it like [+tvMyTv+] - just another level of confusion

another level of confusion of flexibility ?

For the awesome flexibility of adding whatever placeholders we want on-the-fly, it’s a small price to have to pay to remember to use the tv prefix when using the [+...+] placeholder syntax!

I made it use the tv prefix for a simple reason. Some people name TV’s the same as document objects and if that happened one of the two values would be lost. So, allowing the two to be called differently solved this.
