Problem - when saving resource pages - saving dialog box stays on the screen

After posting this problem a week ago:

how certain files were not being installed at setup, then beeing told they will not affect the running of modx, i now have a saving pages issue.

It occurs only when saving resource pages, the - Please Wait Saving.... - dialog box stays on the screen, i have to reload the page to get
rid of it. On occasions it does save the page, but all to often it gets stuck at the saving dialog screen.

I then check the error log and see lot of the following errors:




What am i doing when this happens?

Simply creating a page in the resources area, giving it a Title name, Long Title name, Menu Title name, and then clicking the save button!


Setup:

modx revolution 2.0.0 -pl rev7212 (Normal install) (fresh only a few day ago)

Xampp 1.7.3 - Installed on a localhost:
-PHP Version 5.3.1
-Apache 2.2.14 (IPv6 enabled) + OpenSSL 0.9.8l
-MySQL 5.1.41 + PBXT engine
-PHP 5.3.1
-phpMyAdmin 3.2.4
-Perl 5.10.1
-FileZilla FTP Server 0.9.33
-Mercury Mail Transport System 4.72

Disabled / Not installed Modules:

-eAccelerator
-xCache, Wincache, Apc
-mod_security


Packages Installed(all through package manager):
-TinyMCE 4.0.1
-Gallery 1.0.1
-Wayfinder 2.1.1

Others:

Firefox 3.6.8
OS: Windows XP64

i think some people have answered the problem :

it seems that TinyMCE RTE 4.01 & 4.02 are causing endless saving loops, if you disable the RTE in system settings
the pages save ok, no loop.


So what to do....it look likes it has been recently updated - 4.02, but still same problem.


Anyone got any ideas?

I’m getting this constantly, even after setting the use_editor (Enable Rich Text Editor) option to zero (no) it’s still looping on the saving animation.

It doesn’t give any errors into the modx error log, apache & php logs are clear of any problems. Other pages seem to save ok but I’ve got two which completely fail even though they’re not using any tags at all in them?!


Update:
completely deleting the two pages and ’quick’ creating two new blank ones seems to have worked.

Hate bringing up a really old thread... but i have a client who's 2.2.4 version is doing JUST THIS... any thoughts?

The same issue occurs when publishing/unpublishing article resources, but in that case i get NO overlay to indicate the save action.

Are you, or your client using Chrome? If so, disable all the plugins, and re-enable one by one to find which is causing the save loop. It's not the same plugin causing the problem for everyone, it seems.

This is firefox... i think its hosting platform related because i have about 4 other active 2.2.4 sites all on different servers and this one is the ONLY one that has the issue.

By plugins did you mean MODx or Browser?

Browser. Try firing up FF in safe mode, just in case. I always forget what Chrome calls it's plugin's, extras I think. I didn't bother to check.

They're called Extensions. You can get to them from the little wrench at the top right -> Tools -> Extensions.
