Unable to install, stuck at Select Collation

Decided it was time to switch to 2.0 but I am unable to install it.

I can enter my database details and get the Connecting to mysql server: Success! message, however I can’t select a collation as nothing happens when clicking the "Create or test selection of your database" link.

No error is given.

There is a known issue in some as of yet unidentified environments that is preventing the population of the character set/collation data from the MySQL server. MySQL server: 5.1.37-1ubuntu5.1
MySQL Client: 5.1.37
PHP: 5.2.10
pdo_mysql is installed
Browser: Firefox 3.6.8

I’ve managed to identify the problem I was having, I had incorrectly typed the database name, however a javascript error [Warning: 08 is not a legal ECMA-262 octal] in /setup/assets/js/ext-core.js Line: 9, Column: 7 meant I wasn’t getting feedback on the error.

With exactly the same setup as above but using IE8 as the client browser the collation select boxes aren’t populated.

Yes for me currently in Windows 7 they populate in Firefox 3.6.8 and Chrome(5.0.375.125) but not in IE8 (8.0.7600.16385)

Same problem, nothing happens when I click "Create or test selection of your database."

Let me know if you’d like any other info on the server setup. I was all pumped to play around with Revo but WHAM, what a wall to hit!

The same thing would simply be in IE8 it doesn’t populate the drop-downs with the collation/charset data. It works in FF and Chrome so you should be able to get through it using one of those browsers.

Otherwise, this is not the same problem.

I’ve tried Safari and FF (I’m on Mac OS10.5.8), the drop down does have options but at no point does clicking the "Create or test selection of your database." link cause any reaction in either browser.

I can open a new thread if you prefer but the basic subject line "stuck at Select Collation" is still true, which is what I meant by ’same problem’.

No, no need; just trying to clarify what you meant by ’same problem’; mission accomplished.

Your problem may be related to an incorrect PDO configuration, see the PDO information under Troubleshooting Installation.
