Documentaion on standard tags for Revolution?

Hi, I’m new to MODx (experienced at PHP, Wordpress etc.) and am jumping straight into the Revolution. I am have a few problems finding some of the documentation:

Where can I find the standard tags and template variables for Revolution documented?

I have had a look at the Evolution doco and they are documented here http://svn.modxcms.com/docs/display/Evo1/MODx+Tags but I can’t find a similar page in the Revo Docs.

Yes, I found that OK but it only documents the syntax, not the list of standard tags and variables. Do I assume that the Document Variables (for example) are the same between Evo and Revo?

If this isn’t what you mean with standard tags... then you’ll have to clarify that.

If you’re looking for a list of specific tags (eg for a certain system setting), try searching the SVN or Wiki docs for what you’re looking for. Eg for system settings, you’ll find this: http://svn.modxcms.com/docs/display/revolution/System+Settings

The names of the document (resource) variables have not changed as far as I know. Some system settings did, and some got added too I think.

Here is an example from the Evo doco:

• [*pagetitle*] - the title of the document
• [*longtitle*] - the long title of the document
• [*introtext*] - the summary of the document
• [*content*] - the content of the document

Is this the same list for Revo? Where are these documented in the Revo doco?

Ah-ha. I thought I was missing something, change in terminology:
Document Variables are now Resource Fields.

The old tags are for Evolution and the new tags are for Revolution.

There’s also this http://modxcms.com/extras/package/681 if you’re using Chrome.

Is the tag syntax for a snippet [[snippet]] or [[!snippet]] ??

The tag documentation says the former, but a lot of the add-on examples use the latter.

I’ve had some instances that seem to work fine with [[snippet]], but others don’t. Login’s Register snippet, for example, was giving me all sorts of nightmares until I switched to [[!Register]] and then it started behaving itself.

Is it simply the case that the tag docs are out of date?
