Troubles installing Sample Site (modxss)

When trying to install the sample website via Package Management I get a lot of messages, and nothing get installed, errormsg are like this:
Error executing xPDOVehicle validator : type php (/var/ww ...

When uninstalling modxss I get the following error:
Could not resolve vehicle: Array ( [license] => GNU G ...
(amongst a few more)


Serverinfo:
- CentOS release 5.4
- MySQL: 5.0.90
- Apache: Apache/2.2.3 (CentOS)
- PHP: 5.2.13, PDO drivers: mysql (5.0.90), sqlite

Packages like FormIt, getPage, getResources, Quip, etc install just fine...

"Clarity Pack" generates the following error:


Any ideas how to solve this? Is there anything missing on the server? PDO is installed on the server, but is it being used??

I’m confused as to how you’re using MODx Revo with PDO disabled at all - MODx Revolution clearly states in the Server Requirements that PDO is required.

Doesn’t this mean your PHP install is not compiled with PDO in it, your using it from a separate library component, on Centos 5.4 you should have php-pdo-5.2.10-1 installed as a seperate package. Check this is installed, also check /etc/php.d/pdo.ini, this will load the PDOmodule.

You don’t seem to be able to execute validators or resolvers in the transport packages whch are just PHP scripts, strange.

I assume this is using MODx 2.0.0-rc1 ?

I too am having issues with the sample sites. I first tried modxss but it did not create the assets directory. I could see the home page but had no formatting because there were no style sheets. I changed the permissions on the root folder t 777 and re-installed and all files seemed to be there but when trying to view the home page I got a fatal error about line 193 in 27.cache.php. Not sure what is going on there. Next I uninstalled modxss and tried clarity but kept getting a file not found error when clicking install. I searched the packages directory and found it to be Clarity with a capital c. I changed it to lower case and it seemed to install fine from there. I would really like to get the modxss site to work though as it has so much more to play with and learn from.

Just FYI this is running on ubuntu 9.10 server with all the latest updates.

I can confirm the Claritypack prob, I’ll have look at this, looks like the package installer is not respecting case somewhere, this will only affect *nix of course.

Correct: I’m using revo2.0.0-rc1;

I’ve succeeded at installing the Claritypack, by duplicating the extracted package folder and using all small caps for the duplicated folder.
The other skin is still a no-go.

Seems about right... no idea how to fix this...

All transport packages should have a lowercase name.

The transport package i.e the zip file does, I think its this from the build script

$builder->createPackage(’Claritypack’,’1.0’, ’rc1’);

Ok, so if we want package names in lower case I’ll update this.

Hi gavro, sorry no idea at the mo, its not something I’ve seen before, I’m guessing that its something in your setup somewhere.

Shamblett, do you think you could add a JIRA task to have createPackage() ensure that the name is lowercase? Thanks!
