I’ve read some posts about a missing front end editor in modx Revolution.
I wondered, is there already one now revolution is out of beta? I assume this is a very important feature when you want people to use Revolution.
I have been asking about it or commenting on it in a few posts. A lot of people want it, but I have not read anything yet from the modx team.
I would like to hear some kind of answer to this question.
Thanks

It’s not a priority for us as the core team at the moment, but we’d gladly adopt one if it were to come from the community.

I don’t need it as much as the clients I build the sites for...
Navigating the manager is difficult for people who haven’t built the sites.
They love being able to edit the site on the public side I’ve noticed.
I’m working on a Ajax based front end editor - basing a lot off of the commenting system Disqus. Will keep everyone updated.
Sounds great!
Aside of the commenting system of Disqus, what else are you thinking of implementing?
A great combo of Evolution snippets for full front-end editing is:
Quick Manager
Maxigallery
FDM
Ditto with Jot, or whatever alternate (there are a few I think)
I know that’s a tall order, but why wouldn’t we want end-users to have everything they need in the front end??

What I meant by disqus is not the commenting system itself, but the Ajaxy - Feel - how the posting of new comments fade in rather than reloading.
Thanks for the list - Community : Anything else you want to see ?
The fading is definitely a nice touch. Looking forward to this very much.
It would be a good idea to compile a list of crucial tools for a user role that never enters the manager, but has all of the control over content that they need. The community should throw their 2 cents in!
The ability and ease to do front-end editing in Evo is one of the main reasons that I originally chose modx.
I am planning on posting a break-down of how my site is built including which snippets are used and how, and which things are front-end editable. I’d like to describe the functionality of it all. Is there a format or methodology that anyone has used for this? Any suggestions, in terms of outlines and diagrams?

Is anyone working on a front-end editing solution for Revo?
