Posting to the MODx Blog

Steps to post using the manager. NewsPublisher coming soon!

1. Go to Blogging MODx >> Your Name.
2. Create a new document.
3. Enter in the usual details.....
4. Enter your post in the content field.
5. Append {{FormBlogComments}} to the bottom to add comments, etc.
6. Leave the author bio field BLANK. It is only filled in on your folder.
7. Change the blogheader to {{blogheader_entry}}
8. Hit save! You’ve posted!

mark, let’s change the default to {{blogheader_entry}} and adjust elsewhere as needed

Number 6 of leaving the field blank might cause some problems.

How would it cause problems?

Why not to add it as a TV ?

You mean a TV that says display comments as a checkbox?

If its possible, then yes, otherwise normal text entry would be fine !

Mark, Can you make Published Date as a date on summary page too ? Currently its creation date

I created document on 16 Feb, and published 7 Mar ... so 7 Mar should be displayed on both date placeholders. Also I tried to replace in chunk with [+pub_date+], but it didnt formatted as a normal date but some thing like this xxxxxxxxxxx .

pub_date is the date an article was set to automatically publish and not the date you clicked publish. Addtionally, setting the date parameter must be done via the snippet call as pub_date is in a unix timestamp format. The simple solution to this is to use the ChangeCreatedonDate module I ported a while back. If Ryan says ok, I’ll install it on the modxcms.com site for you.
